Weighted-sum-of-gray-gases models for non-gray thermal radiation of hydrocarbon fuel vapors, CH4, CO and soot

Using the high-resolution experimental spectral absorption coefficients of six fuel gases and line by spectra CO CH4 based on HITRAN HITEMP databases, in this paper, novel for weighted-sum-of-gray-gases (WSGG) model are presented Heptane, Methane, Methanol, MMA, Propane, Propylene, Toluene, CO. Moreover, soot, were calculated assuming Rayleigh regime implementing complex index refraction obtained from correlations Chang Charalampopoulos. The WSGG models coupled with those literature CO2 H2O means superposition method. first validated several one-dimensional benchmarks representing various levels inhomogeneous conditions temperature, gas concentration soot loading. Then, employed solving a three-dimensional case Heptane pool fire. time averaged 3-D CFD profiles, solved radiative heat transfer exhibiting excellent agreement results calculations terms flux source. emissivity charts provided comparing LBL new models.
